Holy blasphemy, Batman! Gamestation has created what is potentially the best nativity scene ever.
The nativity scene, created by Gamestation as part of a bizarre marketing stunt, features key video game characters standing in for those present at the birth of Jesus.
Starring Sackboy as baby Jesus (a role highly coveted by church members with newborns the world over,) Princess Zelda as the Virgin Mary and Marcus Fenix as Joseph (sorry, Link,) the nativity is likely to enrage at least one member of the Catholic church.
The cast of this nativity scene was decided by polling over 30,000 Gamestation customers in stores. The three wise men are played by Solid Snake, Mario and Obi-Wan Kenobi, while Sonic and Yoshi were chosen to play the donkeys that Joesph and Mary rode in on who later keep baby Jesus – er, baby Sackboy – warm with their breath.
As someone who was raised Catholic, I can confirm that kids would pay a whole lot more attention to bible studies if all the stories were re-told with video game characters.
