Vgchartz.com has posted some Black Friday sales figures, mostly coverning Nintendo. I'm so sad that I missed out on the insanity at retailers and dealing with crazy people (literally) during the busiest shopping weekend of the year across North America. Maybe next year …
Anyway! VGChartz says that the Nintendo Wii broke its previous record of Wii sales on Black Friday with over 500,000 units sold and are expected to reach 650,000 units sold by the end of this week. These high numbers are most likely in part due to Walmart's very cheap $99 blue Wii offer and with the release of Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, which also sold over 500,000 copies. Nintendo did not reveal 3DS numbers; however, VGChartz estimated that it sold around 450,000 units with Super Mario 3D Land selling over 500,000 units.
Microsoft has not revealed sales figures yet, but VGChartz estimates that the Xbox 360 sold "a solid 600,000+ units for the week."
Though Sony didn't reveal any numbers as well, they did mention that retailers had a high demand for the PlayStation 3 on Black Friday because of the $199 holiday bundle that was offered in most stores in the US.
