Mists of Pandaria, World of Warcraft's upcoming expansion, is overhauling the game's talent system and gamers can now play around with the new system. Blizzard has uploaded a "talent calculator" on the official Mists of Pandaria website; however, the talent calculator is unavailable for the expansion's new monk class.
The new talent system will be entirely different than its predecessor. Rather than having three separate talent trees for each class, players will now have to choose talents from individual sets, which are awarded every 15 levels. Though there will be fewer talents overall, each talent you choose has the ability to have a much more substantial impact on your gameplay. Each class will have its own selection of talents and the entire list will be available to all characters of that class, regardless of their specialization.
Each talent set is comprised of three talents and is categorized as a "theme". Some sets will offer gameplay enhancements to things like movement speed and survivability, while others sets will reduce the costs of certain situational abilities.
There is no set release date for Mists of Pandaria, but it is expected to launch in late 2012.
