Skyrim is Still Hooking the Hoards

November 25, 2011 by Mat Growcott

Two weeks after release, Skyrim is still being played religiously by a large group of players

Skyrim has become an international pastime, it has constantly been the most played game on Steam for the last two weeks. Currently being played by more than three times the amount of players that Team Fortress 2 can boast, the peak today has been 163,653 players. Even while most of the world is asleep or getting ready for work, 79,747 players are slaying dragons and hoarding any item with a fair price to weight ratio.

It's an impressive feat and considering that Skyrim is still outselling pretty much everything but Modern Warfare 3 on consoles, it seems that 360 and PS3 users are just as addicted.

The myth that the single player adventure is on the way out has been well and truly shattered, at least on Steam, Modern Warfare 3's multiplayer had "only" 16,322.
