While I was interviewing Visceral games in the wake of Dante's Inferno, their PR department was understandably cagey about talking too much about a sequel. The fact that the source material was much longer than the period presented in the game was something the studio planned to look into but at that point, they told us, there were no actual plans.
That may have changed today as we've learnt that Joshua Rubin, co-writer on Assassin's Creed II, has worked on an unannounced sequel for Visceral, offering up a less than subtle hint as to what that game might be.
I can't say that I'm disappointed, Dante's Inferno was an average but enjoyable game that was overlooked because of its similarities to God of War. It offered some rather dark imagery, baby throwing nipples aside, and presented a very, very interesting take on the original story.
If you like your slaps of obviousness a little more official, expect some sort of announcement over the next few months.
