Microsoft continues to impress with Xbox Game Pass, offering up plenty of titles for gamers subscribed to the ever-evolving monthly service. A stacked collection of new games was announced to be coming to the service just last week, including A Plague Tale: Requiem, Scorn, and Chivalry 2. For those looking to play something less demanding, three new titles have been added today, including a certain highly-anticipated new life sim in early access.
Today, those subscribed to the service can jump into these titles:
- Eville (Consoles/PC)
- Costume Quest (Cloud/Consoles)
- Coral Island (PC)
While Coral Island is being released today in early access, the game has seen a lengthy development process and an incredible amount of transparency from the devs at Stairway Games. The title began as a successful Kickstarter, reaching its goal in less than 36 hours. The Indonesian studio, located in Yogyakarta, has called its first game a “re-imagined farm sim set on a tropical island that is inspired by the classics,” and one look at the latest trailer makes it clear that Animal Crossing and Stardew Valley influenced the team.
Set on a tropical island, players will be able to fully customize their character, romance one of 16 attractive NPCs, start a family, restore the local coral reefs, traverse dangerous caverns, and, of course, make the most impressive farm that anyone’s ever seen. With over 40 islanders to meet and multiplayer available, we’re interested to see how the game grows beyond its early access stage.
Released in 2010, Costume Quest is a party-based RPG in which players control a child out trick-or-treating with their twin on Halloween night. When a monster suddenly kidnaps their sibling, players must traverse the neighborhood to collect items to add to their costume, candy, and other children to use as party members to take into battle against the beast. These costumes aren’t just for looks–the player will transform into whatever costume they’re wearing, whether it be a noble knight or an epic space warrior. The perfect game to play with Halloween approaching, Costume Quest is a great title to play with close friends.
If you’re a fan of Among Us but want something a little more realistic and spooky, Eville might be the title for you. In this murder mystery social deduction game, players will take on the role of either a helpful villager eager to help solve the mystery, or a conspirator ready to murder innocent civilians. The title can either be won by capturing and executing the murderer or, if you’re the bad guy, by killing all of the villagers. A third-person game, players are free to explore the village to their heart’s content, and the game can be played online with friends–or strangers–in groups of 4 to 15. Today is the game’s launch day, and if you’re just hearing about it now, watch the trailer below.
