Mondays always suck, this Monday seems to be no different. The Tales development studio will be closing it’s doors if the decision is approved at a meeting on November 29th. The good news is though that the decision will more than likely not affect the development of the Tales games currently in development.
The publisher didn’t explain the move at all, nor did they say what would be in the future for the team of 109 employees. In America the next Tales game set to release is the 3DS port of Tales of Abyss. Tales of Xillia came out in Japan a few months back but has yet to be announced for North America.
I’ve played a couple Tales games, mostly Tales of Symphonia, which I loved. I’m planning on picking up the port of Tales of Abyss so I really hope that this move doesn’t affect the development of it and future Tales games too much. The Tales series is one of the few JRPG series that I really enjoy; it’s pretty long running too. Around a dozen original titles along with 19 spin-offs and remakes. Heres hoping the Tale isn’t over.
