Blue Archive has begun their latest event on global servers titled The Clumsy Sister and the Magician of the Old Library. The new event is the latest in Nexon’s push to rapidly bring global servers up to speed with Japanese servers. The game released world wide months after it did in Japan, leaving many global fans in the lurch when it comes to sharing the hype over their favorite students with the Japanese Blue Archive community.
In Blue Archive, players take on the first-person role of an adult known only as “Sensei” who’s put in charge of helping the students of Kivotos, an academy city. Only just about everyone in Kivotos is an indestructible gun-toting high school girl. The players as sensei will follow the story of Kivotos and its various schools, as well as recruit girls through “gacha” pulls to participate in both PvP and PvE missions.
The game’s latest event The Clumsy Sister and the Magician of the Old Library follows a story in Trinity General School where an ancient tome is set to be unveiled by the school’s Sisterhood. However Wakaba Hinata, a member of the Sisterhood accidentally destroys the book, underestimating just how fragile it was. Together, Sensei and Hinata recruit the help of Library Committee member Kozeki Ui to try and restore the tome before anyone notices.
The event features its own set of story missions along with challenges and side missions which reward tokens that can be exchanged for limited time offerings. This is a good chance for players to collect Eligma (tokens which allow players to rank up their students) as well as Student Activity Reports (items used to level up their students).
During the event, Blue Archive is also hosting a banner for the event’s two heroines. For a limited time players have an increased chance to draw Wakaba Hinata and Kozeki Ui as 3-Star units. The two girls are also temporarily available using the game’s “pity” tokens where one can be bought outright every 200 pulls.
- Wakaba Hinata: A member of the Sisterhood at Trinity General School. Hinata is an Attack Striker unit that uses a grenade launcher. Her EX ability does modest damage in a huge 5-part AoE. Her attacks do Mystic damage.
- Kozeki Ui: A member of the Library Committee at Trinity General School. Ui is a Support Striker unit that uses a sniper rifle. Her EX ability reduces the EX cost of another ally’s next two abilities, alongside providing them with a minor attack boost. Her attacks do Explosive damage.
Hinata provides users with another Mystic damage dealer that does a massive AoE attack. This makes her invaluable for attacking small weak to Mystic damage, an uncommon damage type. Her PvP usefulness is comparable to Chise who also does Mystic damage, however while Chise creates a zone of damage, Hinata’s larger attack might be able to splash onto more fragile units.
Ui is a great support for teams that rely on one or two powerful units using high-impact EX abilities. Ui’s cost reduction allows users to effectively recycle their EX onto strong characters that would otherwise have to wait.
