This has probably been just an awful month if you’re not a fan of the Elder Scrolls series. It’s gonna be an awful life for this kid though, cause his parent’s totally named him Dovahkiin. Some time ago Bethesda held a contest promising a lifetime supply of their games to anyone cruel and insane enough to actually name their child Dovahkiin. Dovahkiin, for those of you that don’t know, is dragon speak for “Dragonbornâ€.
On Skyrim’s release day Megan and Eric Kellermeyer welcomed their son, Dovahkiin Tom Kellermeyer, into this world and into a lifetime of odd looks when he introduces himself. This contest seems pretty ridiculous, hard to tell if Bethesda meant for it to be taken seriously or not. Either way the Kellermeyer’s have won, or lost if you ask some people.
â€Be it the real world or the game worlds we create, we wish young Dovahkiin the best in all his adventures.†said Bethesda in a post acknowledging the winners. I wonder if there were any other parents that names their kid Dovahkiin but just didn’t contact Bethesda first, that’d be pretty hilarious.
