Yesterday Activison stated that the Call of Duty Elite program may or may not be coming to the PC; it wasn’t a sure thing. This of course did not make for happy PC gamers. Today on the company’s twitter account they retracted that statement. It seems the Elite program will in fact be coming to the PC for free.
â€We misspoke. Our goal has always been to provide a free PC offering for Elite†the company said via their twitter account. “Stay tuned for an update as timing is still being determined.†I can’t say that I’m surprised that the service till hasn’t launched for PC, considering how it hasn’t been going so hot on the consoles.
One thing that should make the PC crowd happy though is the fact that the program is free for PC players. Of course a lot of the DLC and such things that console players are used to paying for are typically free for PC players. While I’m not Activision’s biggest fan I will say that I am glad that the PC market isn’t gonna get snubbed on this. And why should they be? It’s Call of Duty, it’s to America what Starcraft is to Korea.
