Pretty much the only good part of Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace is its pod racing section and that experience has been transferred into Halo 5: Guardians thanks to a new Force map. Sorry, a new Forge map.
The creation tools offered by Forge in Halo 5 have proven to be quite accomplished, with users producing some very impressive maps indeed. This particular effort comes from CaptainDireWolf, and the Boonta Eve map using a welding glitch to create actual pod racer designs from Ghosts. Custom game types aren’t available but you can hop into a pod and race around the circuit if you so desire. Dying results in you respawning in the stands, where you can snipe at the racers should you be so inclined.
You can check out the map in action in the video below.
Not too long ago we reported on an impressive Mario 64 Forge map, which recreated Princess Peach’s castle in the game. That was a particularly impressive map as well, using 1023 or Forge’s 1024 objects limit to create the hub. Quite why its creator, Bearskopff, wanted to make the fortress in Forge is another matter.
Bearskopff has also made Millenium Falcon and Death Star loading bay maps in Forge if you want more Star Wars in your Halo.
