GameTrailers TV host Geoff Keighley has revealed some of the exclusives that'll be on display during the 2011 VGAs. In a pair of tweets earlier today, Keighley announced that the awards show would give us our first look at the next Alan Wake game, a BioWare title from a "new studio," and "the truth about Metal Gear Solid: Rising."
A follow-up to 2009's Alan Wake has been rumored for some time now, with a September job posting indicating that the game was already in active development. Still, Remedy has stated that the next time we see Alan Wake, it won't be in a full sequel or a DLC pack, so this announcement could be something else entirely.
The BioWare news is far more puzzling. According to Keighley, the company will unveil a "new game from a new studio." Does that mean EA has opened up another studio under the BioWare banner in total secrecy? Perhaps an entirely separate developer is creating a sequel to one of BioWare's properties, and the announcement will be something of a ceremonial hand-off.
The Metal Gear Solid: Rising tease is just as cryptic. Personally, I'm hoping Kojima announces that Raiden is only playable for the prologue, and the real main character is actually Solid Snake. Hey, turnabout is fair play.
You can catch the truth behind these (and presumably more) reveals when the 2011 Video Game Awards air live on Spike TV December 10.
