Final Fantasy XV director Hajime Tabata had a lot of interesting things to share and reveal in this year’s Taipei Game Show. The biggest revelation of them all is the upcoming Final Fantasy XV technical demo featuring a younger version of Noctis.
Tabata also explained they originally had not planned to reveal the screenshot of young Noctis until March, when they would be unveiling the demo in more detail. He also says the final game is far more fun that the demo.
As for the progress reports, they are coming to an end. Tabata won’t be sharing more about the game until it’s ready for release, hinting that it will do so earlier than we all expect. After nearly a decade since it was announced, this is welcome news indeed.
Tabata shared some more odds and ends in his talk during the event:
- If you don’t buy gas for Noctis’ car, you will end up pushing it.
- Dragoon, AKA Aranea Highwind, apparently has a secret identity. Is she Lunafreya? Or is she connected to Noctis somehow? Tabata won’t speak for now.
- Switching weapons and aerial combat has been made easier.
- You can steal magitek weapons, but you won’t be able to use magitek armor.
- As demonstrated in the last video, you can destroy Nilfheim’s entire base if you want to, presumably after dealing with Dragoon.
Final Fantasy XV will be released in 2016 on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. How soon do you think before it comes out? Tell us what you think in the comments.
