Registration keys have started going out to the folks who accepted into the closed beta preview of the 360's new dashboard update.
NeoWin reports that those who opted into the program have begun receiving e-mails with 25 digit codes that they can enter on the Marketplace to redeem the update. Apparently it can take up to three to five days after you've entered the code for Microsoft to push the download to your system. You'll be able to install the new dashboard on up to three different consoles, though Microsoft seems particular about limiting those to a single household.
The update's new features include a clean new "Metro" look inspired by Windows Phone 7 and Windows 8, greatly expanded support for voice commands, and a new search feature branded after Microsoft's own Bing. Still, don't expect to hear much about the new dashboard in the coming weeks, as everyone participating is under a strict non-disclosure agreement.
According to the e-mail, the preview period is expected to last "approximately 3 months", meaning there's a good chance we won't be seeing the new "Fall" update until well into next year.
