Hydrophobia Prophesy Coming to PSN Next Week, Free on Playstation Plus

October 28, 2011 by Mat Growcott

Available for free on Playstation Plus next week, Hydrophobia Prophesy brings with it new features, deeper back-story and Move support

Dark Energy Digital are bringing their water-based action adventure to the Playstation Network next week, completely free of charge for Playstation Plus subscribers.

On November 1st (2nd in Europe), the latest version of Hydrophobia Prophesy will be available for download, $7.99 in the US and £5.10 in the UK if you're not signed up for Plus.

Perhaps the most exciting news is that this is the ultimate version of Hydrophobia Prophesy, complete with new features, a deeper back-story and Move support. That last one alone means you should at least take a look if you happen to have the peripheral around.

Hydrophobia, quite famously, has had a mixed history. Released almost a year ago to very mixed reviews, a member of the development team took it upon himself to contact members of the press about their bad reviews. Apparently he wasn't entirely reasonable and his attitude added a touch of contraversy to the release. A few months later, Hydrophobia Pure was announced, an updated version of the game that fixed many of the original issues.

Prophesy is yet another re-release of the original game, with new updates and fixes, to be available on PSN and Steam. Fingers crossed that it manages to live up to what the developers had envisioned, I know for the sweet price of nothing I'll be willing to give it a lot of time.
