As we announced a couple of weeks back, HORI has teamed up with Sony Computer Entertainment to create the "Tactical Assault Comamnder 3," a mouse and keyboard peripheral for the PlayStation 3.
Tactical Commander 3 offers a righthanded mouse controller with optical sensors and a lefthanded keypad following the WASD configuration made standard by PC games. In addition to the standard controls, the [â—‹ / × / â–¡ / â–³ / L3/START/SELECT ] buttons are also painted on, offering players quick access to the PS3's Dual Shock controller keys. The keyboard additionally offers macros, or "sub buttons" as HORI calls them.
The licensing of the peripheral comes at an interesting time, leading us to wonder whether Sony intends on supporting the device through first person shooters like Killzone 3 and Resistance 3.
The T.A.C. 3 can be seen in action above the fold.
The T.A.C. 3 peripheral goes on sale on November 2nd for 9800 Yen, or US$129.
