New locations in Diablo III have been discovered by hackers who, after modifying the beta files, were able to gain access to them. The areas include the Highlands, which is separated into Crossing, North, and South; Leoric's Hunting Grounds; and Leoric's Manor. These areas expand upon the length and breadth of King Leoric's Kingdom of Khanduras.
The locations look very much like the early Diablo III screenshots, which were shown off in previews two years ago. There's even the part with the rainbow in it, which players complained about when it was first revealed. Interestingly, the game's color palette is much more subdued than anything we've seen in the early screenshots, which lends the game a truly Gothic look and feel without becoming too dreary.
Presumably, players will traverse these areas upon slaying King Leoric and defending the town of New Tristram from its demonic threat.
We've found screenshots of the previously inaccessible location for your viewing pleasure. Two videos of the locations can also be seen below.
For those of us who are looking forward to Diablo III, the game can't come soon enough.
