Pokemon Scarlet & Violet Showcase Paldea Region Plus Three Main Campaigns

Pokemon Scarlet & Violet was given more of an outing today during Nintendo’s Pokemon Presents broadcast. The new trailer gave eager viewers a first look at some of the game’s visuals and new features, as well as a look at the gorgeously detailed open-world setting of Paldea.

The footage also showed the starting locations for what will kick off three main story campaigns which will see your character joining one of the game’s two school academies. Naranja Academy will be the starting point in Pokemon Scarlet and Uva Academy will be the starter setting in Pokemon Violet. From there, “The Treasure Hunt” campaign will begin, allowing players to get out there and explore the land of Paldea on their Legendary Pokemon Koraidon or Miraidon. As can be seen in the clip, the two new Legendary Pokemon in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet are also incredibly useful for world traversal. Their special powers make them rideable; capable of transforming into bikes, planes and of course being able to fly. Koraidon has a special Sprinting Build mode and Miraidon has a Drive Mode, both of which will help make exploration of Paldea a lot easier. Paldea looks gorgeous and will feature a wealth of characters and creatures to discover. One of the three campaign stories will centre upon the main theme of Pokemon training and will see players embark on a mission to top the trainer rankings through gym battles.

In addition, the version of the game players choose will determine which species of Pokemon will appear in your game, so it’ll be worth taking your time to decide whether you’re going to opt for Pokemon Scarlet or Pokemon Violet.
