If you’ve noticed, we’ve had a lot of big returns to movies and TV shows as of late. Characters and people who you’d swear would never return for one reason or another are suddenly back and it’s like they never left. Or, you see it as a “true ending” to something we weren’t able to get before. For DC Comics fans, you’re about to get that in a double-dose next year, as Michael Keaton will be returning as Batman in the movies.
First (at present) he’ll be donning the suit via The Flash movie, and he’s also confirmed to be coming in the Batgirl movie as well. That’s a lot more than people were expecting, and so in an interview, Michael Keaton was asked the most basic of questions…why come back?
“It seemed like fun,” Keaton explained. “I was curious what it would be like after this many years. Not so much me doing it – obviously, some of that – but I was just curious about it, weirdly, socially. This whole thing is gigantic. They have their entirely own world. So, I like to look at it as an outsider, thinking ‘Holy moly!'”
Holy moly indeed, Batman. And fans are very excited to see more of the OG caped crusader from the modern movies don the cape and cowl once again. But if you expect him to be knowledgeable of all that’s come before…we have some unique news on that front…
“I know people don’t believe this, that I’ve never seen an entire version of any of those movies — any Marvel movie, any other. And I don’t say that I don’t watch that because I’m highbrow — trust me! It’s not that,” he explains. “It’s just that there’s very little things I watch.”
Yep, he’s never watched a DC Comics or Marvel movie. But much like Batman…he has things to do.
