Bricks of War is a Brilliant Lego Stop Motion Send Up of Gears

This fan video shows off everything that makes Gears great, albeit blockier and tinier.

Sure, Traveller’s Tales might not follow through with that Lego Gears of War game we’re all desperately hoping for, but YouTube filmmakers Kooberz Studios has brought us the next best thing: a stop-motion Lego film with Marcus and Dom kicking some serious Locust butt.

Kooberz’s cleverly titled animation, Bricks of War, features blocky versions of just about everything that makes the Gears universe great, from iconic weapons like the Lancer and Hammer of Dawn to behemothic enemies like the Corpser spider, all cleverly assembled out of bricks and minifigs to resemble their in-game models.

I’d say the only thing that’s really off is the Locust themselves, which look a bit more like Doctor Who’s Cybermen than believable insectoid aliens. But hey, who am I to complain when the rest of the video is so damn impressive? It’s definitely worth a watch for Gears of War and Lego fans alike.
