While rumors regarding microtransactions for bullets turned out to be definitely false, it looks like Destiny crucible players will be getting an improved system for finding other Guardians to shoot (via GamesRadar).
In a post on their site, Bungie has announced that with this Iron Banner, Lord Saladin will feature “new matchmaking settings that will assign more emphasis to connection quality. These changes will be made in an effort to reduce lag. There will still be some consideration given to matching you with worthy adversaries, but that’s a thing we’ve done since Destiny first shipped.”
The post continues to detail when the new matchmaking will go live. The Iron Banner Rift launched yesterday, January 26, at 10 a.m. PST, while the new matchmaking system will launch today, January 27th, at 10 a.m. PST.
Bungie’s assured users that they’ll be keeping tabs on the Crucible for stability and improvement. They also mention that this update, and the decision to shift matchmaking focus to connection quality, comes from listening to community feedback. If you play before and after this update, the developer would like to hear feedback based off your experience.
Yesterday, we learned that Destiny players will also be getting some new privacy options as well, along with rumors that Destiny 2 has been delayed.
