Publishers at Nacon and developers at Daedalic Entertainment have officially released a gameplay reveal trailer for Lord of The Rings: Gollum, which looks phenomenal. The upcoming action-adventure game has gamers on the edge of their seat with anticipation, as they can’t wait to use stealth, wit, and agility to survive the dangers ahead.
Those who watch the trailer will see familiar places from the Lord of The Rings trilogy as Gollum makes his way through Middle-Earth. The trailer focuses heavily on Gollum’s abilities, such as climbing, swimming, scaling cliffsides, and grappling, all while trying to remain as stealthy as possible. Dangers lurk around the map, with dragons nearly sweeping Gollum off his feet and giant spiders ready to rip players limb from limb. The trailer also showcases the game’s stunning graphic and sound quality, immersing players deep within the game’s atmosphere.
Here is a quick overview of the game from Steam:
While being vital to the story by J.R.R. Tolkien, many parts of Gollum’s quest have not been told in detail yet. In The Lord of the Rings: Gollum™ you get to experience this story. From his time as a slave below the Dark Tower to his stay with the Elves of Mirkwood.
Use stealth, agility and cunning to survive and overcome what lies ahead. Climb, leap and grapple your way past dangers or into advantageous spots.
While Gollum might not be a fighter, it is not unlike him to assassinate a careless enemy when the chance presents itself – or dispose of them in more creative and villainous ways.
The decisions you make and the way you play have a direct influence on Gollum’s personality: Always struggling between the two sides embodied by Gollum and Sméagol, it is up to you to decide whether the darker side of Gollum takes over or if there is a spark of reason left in what once was Sméagol. One mind, two egos – you decide!
Lord of The Rings: Gollum is set to release on September 1, 2022, on platforms such as PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC. It has also been announced that the game will make its way to the Nintendo Switch this year.
