If your a fan of RPGs, you’ll want to cease what you’re doing and get a load of this: Tim Cain, creator of the original Fallout, is joining the ranks of Obsidian Entertainment.
Rock Paper Shotgun reports that Cain commented on his Facebook page with the new development. Until recently, Cain was working at Carbine Studios (a division of NC Soft) working on an MMORPG called Wildstar.
It remains to be seen whether Tim Cain—a Fallout fan favorite—will develop a new Fallout title at Obsidian Entertainment, but his presence at the studio is a boon for their future RPGs.
Tim Cain’s new position at the company is that of Senior Programmer, meaning he’ll be personally involved with the games they develop and not simply be there as a manager of some sort.
As RPS reports, The Wheel of Time—an adaptation of Robert Jordan’s series of fantasy novels—is currently in development at the studio. It’ll be interesting to see if and whether he lends his talents to the project.
