Consortium Free On Steam In Buildup To Kickstarter Sequel

January 18, 2016 by Ryan Parreno

You only have a few hours left to get the first game gratis.

Interdimensional Games came up with a unique way to hype up fans for upcoming Kickstarter Consortium The Tower.

They put up the original game, Consortium, up for free on Steam over the weekend. There’s still a few hours left to download the game now, if you log onto the Steam page and click on the Install Game button.

What is Consortium, you may ask? It’s a science fiction themed RPG. ThinkMass Effect, but it’s set in one ship, called the Zenlil, and it’s a murder mystery.

While technically a shooter, you can choose, Deus Ex style, to play the game lethally, to use nonlethal force, or to avoid confrontations and talk your way through the entire game. Similarly, you can change the tone of the story if you choose to play it more like an adventure game and explore where each conversation can take you, or save time and shoot it out when you can.

Consortium is a successfully funded Kickstarter project, and merely part one of what developer Interdimensional Games calls the iDGi-1 trilogy. Consortium The Tower is part two, and stars the same protagonist, Bishop Six.

This time, Bishop faces a hostage situation in Churchill Tower, a massive skyscraper in the middle of England. Mired in this hostage situation, however, is a global spanning conspiracy which Bishop will have to uncover.

The Consortium The Tower Kickstarter will be launching around the same time the Consortium giveaway ends. If you’d like to follow this crowdfund, you can watch the official site for now.
