The Dark Pictures Anthology: The Devil In Me Shares Release Date And Story Trailer

July 7, 2022 by Alexandra Nicholson

Check in opens pretty soon.

We’ve finally been treated to a release window for the next instalment in The Dark Pictures Anthology series. Publisher Bandai Namco has dropped a new story trailer for Supermassive Games’ newest horror adventure The Devil In Me today. It’s safe to say that it looks set to be another terrifying jaunt from the developers, whose prior success stories in their Dark Pictures Anthology include House of Ashes, Man of Medan and Little Hope.

The trailer also reveals that the game will be launching in the Autumn of this year, so there’s really not that long to wait for a taste of this mysterious-looking murder mansion tale. You can check out the new story trailer right here to get yourself in the mood for The Devil In Me.

The events of The Devil In Me will serve as the final chapter in the current series of The Dark Pictures Anthology and is, like with the other titles in the franchise, inspired by real-world events. In this game, players will step into the shoes of a group of documentary makers as they enter a murder hotel inspired by real-life Murder Castle creator and serial killer H. H. Holmes. As you can see in the trailer, this is probably not a choice that’ll work out well for the group of protagonists, but as with all games in The Dark Pictures Anthology, how events play out will be totally down to player choices.

Eager players can also pre-order the game now which will unlock The Curator’s Cut. This allows players to play through previously unavailable scenes with different characters, unlocking new decisions and consequences as a result.

The Dark Pictures Anthology: The Devil In Me will launch at some point in the Autumn and will be available on Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and PC. If you can’t wait that long for your horror fix, there’s always Supermassive Games’ current horror adventure The Quarry to tide you over the summer months until we have a specific release date for The Devil In Me.
