It has been announced that Asterix & Obelisk will be going on another adventure in the game titled, Asterix & Obelix XXXL: The Ram From Hibernia. Microids revealed the news today about the upcoming game and hope to release this installment on PlayStation 4 & 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and the Nintendo Switch in the Fall. The announcement also comes with a brand-new trailer which you can watch below.
Let us tell you about this new Asterix & Obelix adventure: the game will take you on a journey through Hibernia (which is the old Latin name for Ireland) where you will engage in several noticeable fights that allow you to use every dirty trick in the book; you can smash your enemies with a barrel, among many other things. But this isn’t just a single-player slog of a game because this can be experienced in a four-player co-op – that sounds a little more fun, doesn’t it?
In terms of a description, that’s not quite cutting it though, right? Well, here we go. The game is situated in 50 BC, and the nation of Gaul is completely occupied by Roman soldiers. Over in Hibernia, Keratine (chief Whiskitonix’s daughter) decides to call on the help of Asterix and Obelix in the hope they can aid her against this Roman invasion. The dynamic duo must overthrow the Romans while also bringing back the chief’s cherished golden ram.
This journey allows players to take control of their favorite Viking team of warriors, using their fists and pretty much anything else that is lying around as a weapon. It can’t be that difficult to plow through an army of Roman soldiers, right? Not for this dangerous duo anyway.
This top-down adventure is split across six chapters, with each being as fun and exciting as the last; filled to the brim with collectibles and important artifacts that will aid you on the journey too. Players must also solve intricate puzzles and perform complex fighting combos if they are to complete this adventure. Do you think you have what it takes?
