In a message posted on the Steam Forums, Five Nights at Freddy’s creator Scott Cawthon announced that the spinoff title, Five Nights at Freddy’s World, will release on February 19. The game will launch on Android and iOS in “the following weeks.” (via GameSpot).
Cawthon apologized in the statement for a recent lack of updates.
“First of all, I apologize for the lack of updates on the websites. My old faithful computer (which I used to make FNaF 1-4) finally died the other day. I had all of my work on FNaF World backed up, of course, but it's still quite a delay to get a new machine and reconfigure software, etc. I hope to be back up and running soon!”
The developer has also just welcome a baby boy into the world, ending the post by saying that he wrote the message from the hospital.
Cawthon announced Five Nights at Freddy’s World in September of last year, stressing to fans that while some characters from the original games may appear, it would not be a horror title. The indie series has proven immensely popular. There’s even a movie project in the works at Warner Bros.
