An Amazon France listing for The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD may have revealed some surprising information well in advance of Nintendo’s official announcement.
Translated, this is what the listing says:
Unlock bonuses with "The Legend of Zelda" amiibos: Tap all the amiibos for the Zelda series to unlock bonuses in the game, such as regenerating your life, or getting arrows for your bow. The new Wolf Link amiibo even allows you to get into a new dungeon: "The Twilight Cave". The data recorded on this Amiibo can even be transferred to the next episode on Wii U.
Bear in mind, none of this has been confirmed by Nintendo. If it turns out to be true, we also don’t know yet if the new dungeon can only be opened via amiibo.
Still, that’s a major type of content to be locked behind amiibo. Splatoon has a precedent for this, with each amiibo unlocking challenge versions of the single player levels using different weapon types, as well as costume rewards. The Twilight Cave dungeon could have been implemented in exactly the same way.
In any case, this certainly increases the desirability of getting the retail version, especially the bundle version that comes with the Wolf Link amiibo.
