Splatoon’s Latest Splatfest Asks You To Back The Future (Or The Past)

January 11, 2016 by Ryan Parreno

Great Scott! How many jiggawatts will it take to decide this one?

Splatoon is seeing the end of its DLC soon, but that doesn’t mean the fun’s ending anytime soon, if the latest Splatfest is any indication.

This time, you have to decide if you’d rather go to the future or back to the past. Squid Research Lab actually went out of their way to share a pros and cons for each side. We’ll share their points below, but to add my own spin into this:

Past Pros: You can go meet your parents when they were kids.

Past Cons: Your parents might be attracted to you.

Future Pros: You can see all the good things coming your way when you succeed in life.

Future Cons: Well, you might not have succeeded in life.

Squid Research Labs pros and cons are below. What side would you pick? Care to come up with your own pros and cons? Share your ideas with us in the comments.

Past Pros:

  • Dinosaurs are totally sweet.
  • It’s easier to stay on your Paleo diet in the Paleolithic era.
  • Caveman fashion was pretty fresh, assuming The Flintstones is an accurate documentation.

Past Cons:

  • Dinosaurs might eat you.
  • No burgers OR pizza.
  • Your mom might ask you to be her date to the Enchantment Under the Sea dance.

Future Pros:

  • Your best friend could be a robot.
  • Holodecks provide hours of entertainment, all without needing to leave your house!
  • Transportation potentially seems cooler: Rocketships? Scotty beaming you up?

Future Cons:

  • Robots might have gained intelligence and decided they’re not friendly.
  • What happens if your transporter makes a mistake and mixes you up with someone else? I think we’ve all seen The Fly enough times to know what could happen…
  • All food now comes in the form of an affordable and widely available pill, BUT IT’S ONLY AVAILABLE IN SQUID FLAVOR.
