True to their word, Sony is publishing Arc the Lad: Twilight of the Spirits to the PlayStation 4 tomorrow.
Arc the Lad: Twilight of the Spirits is a tactical RPG set in a fantasy world, where two brothers are mired in the fates of the humans and Deimos, a race of humanoid beasts. While Kharg, who was raised by humans, wants to destroy the Deimos, Darc wants to rule the Deimos and destroy the humans.
Combat in this tactical RPG is turn based, but instead of moving around a grid the game lets you move around circles, and also shows you areas of effect for how far your attacks can reach enemies. Also notable is how Spirit Stones, a rare item central to the story, is used in gameplay. Spirit Stones are functionally Magic Points, but do not regenerate like MP does in other games. You have to buy Stones, although you can also find them in the field or pick them up after winning battles.
This is the first time the game is getting rereleased in North America since it was originally published on PlayStation 2. Prior to this, it did get rereleased in Japan via PlayStation Network in 2014. While reviews are mixed, if you were ever curious to judge it for yourself but never got the chance, you have it now.
