Homeworld is set to expand with the release of Homeworld: Deserts of Kharak. The game is set as a prequel to the original game, taking place in the harsh and arid environment where the technology that allowed humanity to find its salvation was discovered.
Players take on the role of chief science officer Rachel S'jet, who leads an expedition deep into the desert, controlled by hostile forces, to recover an ancient spaceship.
Today, the game's developer Blackbird Interactive released a new story trailer. The studio was founded by veterans of the Homeworld and Company of Heroes franchises.
Players who pre-order the game on Steam will receive the Homeworld Remastered Collection for free. Those who already own that game can purchase Deserts of Kharak at a 20% discount.
