ReCore Will Also Launch On PC This Year

January 4, 2016 by Carlos Chism

It’s unclear if the Windows 10 launch will occur after Xbox One.

ReCore, the Keiji Inafune-led project announced for Xbox One, will also release for PC at some point this year. As spotted by Polygon, Microsoft Corporate Vice President Mike Nichols mentions the PC release in a post detailing the games lineup for the year ahead.

In the post, the game’s specific release date isn’t mentioned, citing only that it will launch this year. This could possibly mean that the game releases on Windows 10 concurrently with Xbox One, or after, as is the case with other Xbox One console exclusives like Gears of War Ultimate Edition.

Inafune is working on the title with Comcept (the team also working on Mighty No. 9), and Armature Studio. The game was first unveiled at E3 205. During the show, Phil Spencer, head of Xbox at Microsoft, confirmed the game would be heading to Xbox One spring of this year.

In earlier interviews, developer Armature mentioned that the game will be a throwback to older titles like The Legend of Zelda and Metroid. They also confirmed that they aren’t being required to incorporate features like Kinect and Smartglass. Phil Spencer also said late last year that there’s still a lot more to hear of the game in 2016.
