Rainbow Six Siege’s First Expansion Delayed

January 4, 2016 by Ian Miles Cheong

The first expansion for R6 Siege has been delayed.

Rainbow Six Siege's first planned expansion, Operation Black Ice, has been slightly delayed. Ubisoft announced today that the DLC, which was originally planned for a January 2016 release, has been pushed back by a few weeks to February 2, 2016.

The DLC is a part of the game's $30 Season Pass, which includes other expansions besides this one. The DLC is set to include two new characters, which players can unlock immediately if they have the pass. Without the pass, players will have to wait an additional week and spend real cash to unlock them.

The two characters are a part of Canada's Joint Task Force counterterrorist organization and come equipped with new guns and gadgets. The DLC also adds some new weapon skins across every tier.

In addition, the DLC includes a new map, which will be free for everyone—so no one will feel left out. Ubisoft has also mentioned that there will be unspecified upgrades to the existing game.

You can read about Ubisoft's DLC plans for the game in their blog post.
