Michael Fassbender, who's helming the upcoming Assassin's Creed games, says that he didn't actually play any title in the series until recently.
Speaking to EW, the actor best known for his role as Magneto in the new X-Men movies who most recently portrayed Apple's Steve Jobs, said that he hadn't played any of the games until Ubisoft approached him.
Fassbender said that he's played the games since then to get a feel of the physicality of the character he plays in the upcoming movie, in which he stars as an assassin named Callum Lynch. The movie is set to feature the key aspects of the games, namely the Parkour, the wristblades Assassins use to kill their opponents, and the secret war between the Templars and Assassins.
"We’re striving to find something special," said Fassbender of the movie. "We believe the whole concept around it is special and want to service that the best we can. The fans are really passionate: very specific and they expect accuracy and historical detail. We’re really trying to capitalize and feed on and enjoy the fun element. We’re working hard to make this something special."
The Oscar-nominated actor says that he's learned a lot of Parkour for the movie so we'll be seeing a lot of that in the movie when it comes out next year.
