Multi-Disc Games May be Supported by Xbox One Backward Compatibility Soon

December 21, 2015 by Stephen Daly

Games like the Director’s Cut of Deus Ex: Human Revolution may be supported before long.

Microsoft may be close to making multi-disc based Xbox 360 playable on Xbox One via the system's backward compatibility feature, as noted by Game Informer.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution is currently supported by the feature but the game's multi-disc Director's Cut version is not. The Director's Cut featured numerous improvements, particularly in the form of revamped boss fights, which were one of the biggest disappointments in the game when it orginally released.

It also seems that The Missing Link, a DLC that adds an extra chapter to the game, isn't working either. Microsoft has said that add-ons should be compatible but they seem to be working on a fix for that as well, according to the Deus Ex Twitter account.

For those asking: Missing Link and DXHR Director's Cut are currently not supported, but the Xbox team expect them to be early next year.

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, the next game in the series, is set for release in August 2016.
