The latest update from Mediatonic has addressed a number of problems Fall Guys players have been facing on various platforms over the weekend. The battle royale-style knockout game launched its new free-to-play model last week and also went cross-platform. However, the launch hasn’t been without its share of technical issues, some of which were outlined in the last few days.
Mediatonic has now taken to Twitter to provide an update on some of the most pressing issues. One of these was the fact that players on PlayStation 5 consoles were reportedly unable to access the game’s different rounds whilst in a party. Thankfully, this has now been sorted out though, as have a number of issues for players accessing the game on Nintendo Switch.
Other notable fixes include sorting out problems players had been having with voice chat. The bug that had been stopping party members from hearing each other is now dealt with. In addition, visual issues for different types of effects on the Nintendo Switch, such as Spawn FX and Lilypad effects, have also been fixed. Teams will also no longer spawn in the same place on Team Rounds and a number of other issues have been addressed.
Fall Guys has seen its switch to a free-to-play model pay off big time in terms of numbers. According to the game’s official Twitter account, 20 million players jumped in on the knockout-based obstacle course craziness of Fall Guys in the first 48 hours post-launch of ‘Free For All’.
Whilst Fall Guys was originally exclusive to PlayStation 4 and PC, the game can now also be enjoyed on Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch. PC gamers can still play Fall Guys on Steam if they’d already purchased it prior to its move onto the Epic Games Store, but for those wishing to play it on PC now, they’ll have to download it from Epic.
