Certain classic games are currently unplayable on the PC PlayStation Plus app, but the service is still listing them as active, whereas there are several other games that are not in the catalog at all.
The PlayStation service is available on the PC due to a special app that allows games to be streamed, but as expected, the library has a different list of games than the console version. However, the service is experiencing some problems with its current games, with the primary issue being that some PlayStation 1, 2, and 4 games are currently being listed not as they should be. This small collection of games is – as it stands anyway – being listed as PlayStation 3 titles, meaning they do not load when selected.
After some experimenting as well, regular PlayStation 3 games play as normal. Just some of the games being affected by this problem are Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Death Stranding, Jak and Dexter, and Tekken 2, but after further investigation, it turns out that every PS1 and PS2 title is being troubled by this issue.
Who was the knight in shining armor that spotted this mix-up then? It was a Reddit user who goes by the name Iamafatcupcake (nice name), and his observations have since been confirmed to be true.
As we mentioned though, this isn’t the only problem with the service. Several games are completely missing from the PC app, some of them include Resident Evil Director’s Cut, Devil May Cry 4, Infamous 2, and Red Dead Redemption 2. This PC app is really struggling to get going because along with these misleading labels and the missing games, there is no search function, with it still using the grid-style keypad that is currently on the consoles.
The fat cupcake is doing all the hard work for us though, they are currently creating a list of the games being affected and will update their Reddit post in due course – that’s awful good of them. For now, though, you will just need to be patient if you are using the PC PlayStation Plus app, we’re sure it will get there in the end.
