Sega has released the first trailer for Yakuza 6. The video, below, first concentrates on the highly detailed environments. Protagonist Kiryu begins stomping and punching his way through the trailer about 42 seconds in. After combat, the video shows Kiryu navigating the environment and moving around obstacles.
Yakuza 6 was originally announced at Tokyo Game Show 2015 this past September, along with a high-definition remake of the original Yakuza. Both titles are expected to release during Fall 2016 in Japan. No plans for a Western release have been announced yet. Yakuza 5 recently released in the West on the PlayStation 3. Its launched happened “a little later” than the publisher would have hoped, due to development bugs which “popped up in the localization process,” according to SEGA.
Here’s hoping that Western localization doesn’t take as long for Yakuza 6.
