Activision and Bungie unveiled a new limited-time event called the Sparrow Racing League for Destiny: The Taken King at the PlayStation Experience keynote on Saturday. The event will begin on December 8th, 2015, and will allow players around the world to face each other in what the developer says is one of the game’s most requested modes. The Sparrow Racing League will feature what Bungie calls a “six-person death race through enemy territory where players put their sparrow skills to the ultimate test against five other Guardians, and the tracks themselves.”
The event will last for three weeks, culminating on December 29th, 2015. There will also be a limited time exclusive quest that PlayStation Destiny players will have access to when Sparrow Racing launches tomorrow.
Destiny received small updates throughout its first year, which culminated in major changes just before The Taken King expansion was released. Then, with The Taken King itself, critics and fans were pleased with the game’s overhaul, and the expansion’s new content. Destiny: The Taken King released on September 16, 2015, and the Sparrow Racing League will be available to anyone with the game’s latest expansion on December 8, 2015.
