Nintendo has announced a Nintendo Direct presentation for the upcoming Xenoblade Chronicles 3 on Nintendo Switch. The event will last roughly 20 minutes and take place on Wednesday, June 22 at 7 AM PT / 10 AM ET / 3 PM BST. More information will be shared about the game, presumably gameplay mechanics and perhaps some further elaboration in regard to the game’s story. It was previously announced that Xenoblade Chronicles 3 will somehow include content from Xenoblade Chronicles and Xenoblade Chronicles 2, such as characters and important story beats.
Earlier this month, rumors started spreading about a regular Nintendo Direct, with journalist and narrative designer Alanah Pearce stating that a Direct was planned for June 29. However, the announcement of this event may be what Nintendo had planned in the first place. That being said, it’s not unprecedented for Nintendo to host multiple events close to one another, as earlier this year we saw both a Pokemon Presents and Nintendo Direct in February.
Xenoblade Chronicles 3 was announced during the February 2022 Nintendo Direct to explosive reception from fans of the series. However, a lot of people weren’t too thrilled with the game’s announcement, as it’s simply not their cup of tea. The same can be said for Fire Emblem announcements, especially when Byleth was announced for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Nevertheless, if you’re a massive JRPG fanatic, then XC3 is shaping up to be another lengthy adventure that will be worth the wait.
Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is set to launch on Nintendo Switch on July 29. Pre-orders are currently available at your local game retailer and on the Nintendo Switch eShop.
