Xenoblade Chronicles X: Here’s What It Looks Like In First Person

November 29, 2015 by Ryan Parreno

It’s a completely viable way to play the game, if you want to.

Xenoblade Chronicles X is nearing release, and even after all these months, there’s still quite a bit that fans don’t know about the game. For example, did you know there’s a first person mode?

That actually should not be a surprise, as Japanese fans already had that option when it first released in the region.  It just so happened that there aren’t that many people who’ve recorded footage of themselves playing the game this way.

Jump to now. As you can see in the video above, first person view is seamlessly integrated, in such a way that it is completely viable to play the whole game in this way. You can still recognize parts of Mira and New Los Angeles, but more importantly, you can see Elma and Lyn by your side.

Now, first person perspective has not been implemented to stay persistent completely. At certain angles, and when you dip down into the sea, the camera will switch to third person. For the latter, this is a matter of not keeping things more complicated than it has to be. After all, if you could swim in first person, Monolith Soft would then have to come up with things for you to do underwater.

Do you think you would try playing Xenoblade Chronicles X in first person? Share your thoughts with us in the comments.

Xenoblade Chronicles X will be releasing for Wii U in the US and Europe on December 4, 2015.
