Black Desert Online is headed west, and interested gamers will have an early chance to check the game out when the online beta launches next month.
Today, Daum Games has announced that the closed beta will begin on December 16 and last until December 22. Gamers can expect to join the fray starting at 7:00am UTC.
As with the Alpha, Beta testers will be able to pick from the Warrior, Sorceress, Berserker, Ranger and Wizard classes. A new class, the Tamer, will also be available to players.
As the name suggests, the Tamer is the resident pet class and allows him or her to summon the support of Heilang. You can see them in action in a newly released video below.
Additionally, Daum Games reveals that the Calpheon region and its major city with the same name will be making its debut in the Beta for players to visit. The area is described as "largely rural" and features some of its vastest landscapes.
A number of improvements have been made to the Beta since the game was in Alpha. These include:
â— Improved character customization, including 30 new skin tones, 40 new hair colors, new beards, and a bald option for male characters
â— Improved balance of character classes
â— Improved weather cycles, including darker and occasionally stormy nights and lanterns that can be purchased from NPCs to help players in the dark
â— Newly enabled features such as the much requested walking mode and more
â— Adjustment of HP Potions to improve the PvP challenges
â— Fully localized English text
â— Level cap set to 50.99% with PVP unlocked at level 30
You can pre-order the game right now for access to the beta.
