Matty Bergman’s Toddyhancer mod deliberately lo-fis your Star Wars Battlefront experience, with the intent of making it look like your game is being projected out of a film reel. It’s an incredible effect, but not everyone will be into it, and it’s easy to see why.
Given the push the industry makes for better and more impressive graphics, this mod runs counter to what many gamers love. It deliberately adds effects, such as sharpening, and chromatic aberration, that actively takes away from what EA DICE have been able to accomplish with Frostbite.
However, for other gamers, that is precisely the point. This lo-fi look makes these settings and characters look more familiar, even closer to what they envisioned in their minds. It’s certainly not an effect that was possible when the first Battlefront games were being made.
