Destiny developer Bungie has announced that challenge modes will be added to The Taken King next month to make raid bosses even tougher.
From early December the difficulty players can expect from King's Fall, the raid introduced to Destiny with the launch of The Taken King in September, will rise as the game offers a specific challenge. Like a Nightfall strike modifier, the challenge will be depicted next to a skull when you choose the raid. These challenges will feature in both normal and hard versions of the raid and there will be "rewards to match," according to Bungie.
One "requires that you defeat [the boss] in a very specific manner" and while details are scarce, the developer did note that players who kill Golgoroth using a single Pool of Reclaimed Light will have a tough time of it.
King's Fall features four different boss battles: the Warpriest, Golgoroth, the Daughters of Oryx, and Oryx himself. A hard version of the raid was made available a few weeks after launch and made these fights harder.
Destiny's December update will introduce a range of Year Two exotic items and tweak weapon balance. It's not currently known if the raid challenges will be introduced at the same time as the update.
