Sony announced today the lineup of free games for PlayStation Plus for next month. On PlayStation 4, members will get Gauntlet: Slayer Edition (regularly $19.99) and King’s Quest — Chapter 1: A Knight to Remember (regularly $9.99). PlayStation 3 members will getFar Cry 3: Blood Dragon (regularly $19.99) and SSX (regularly $19.99). Finally, PlayStation vita members will receive Freedom Wars (regularly 14.99) and Rocketbirds: Hardboiled Chicken (regularly $9.99).
This month’s lineup may appear weaker for some members, who are used to getting at least one flagship AAA title, or a well-known indie game on the PlayStation 4. Gauntlet: Slayer Edition released last year, and is considered a hack-and-slash dungeon crawling game. King’s Quest — Chapter 1: A Knight to Remember is the first part of an adventure series that was originally released on the PlayStation 3. The selections for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita, however, look solid, considering that Blood Dragon and SSX were some of the more fun late-cycle releases of the last generation. Both Freedom Wars, a JRPG set in a distant future, is highly regarded among PlayStation Vita players.
Earlier today, Sony announced that they have sold more than 30 million units of the PlayStation 4 worldwide. You can check out the video reveal of the PlayStation Plus games below.
