V Rising Nets 2 Million Sales After A Month in Early Access

June 17, 2022 by Alexandra Nicholson

2022 is clearly the year of the vampire.

There’s obviously a huge appetite for vampire-related gaming content this year, as it’s just been revealed that one of 2022’s smash hit games on Steam, V Rising, has topped over 2 million sales units since it launched in Early Access. The game has been enjoying massive success in the short window of time it has been available on Steam, and with a player base that large, who knows what the future holds for the vampire survival title.

V Rising isn’t just topping the charts in terms of commercial success. The game has also been gathering plenty of critical praise, as well as boasting 88% positive reviews on Steam from happy players. In a post shared earlier on the game’s official Twitter account, the developers thanked players for their support so far on what can only be described as an incredible achievement for a game only one month into Early Access.

It’s clear that V Rising has proved to be enthralling to many, and the success of the game hasn’t gone unnoticed by its developers at Stunlock Studios. Rickard FrisegĂĄrd, CEO of Stunlock Studios, shared his appreciation for the growing V Rising player base and community in a recent press release.

We at Stunlock are very proud of the amazing start V Rising has made since launching on Early Access. Our goal is to make the best vampire game possible and this is a clear indicator we are on the right path. We will strive to reward our players with a new, ground breaking survival experience and also satiate any bloodlust.

Rickard FrisegĂĄrd, CEO, Stunlock Studios

The game focuses on players’ ability to survive as a newly-risen vampire who needs to rebuild their dominion over the land from the ground up. This continued success builds upon earlier milestones, such as selling 500,000 copies in the first three days in Early Access, which rose to 1 million in the first week, followed by 1.5 million after a fortnight. All in all, it’s pretty impressive growth.

V Rising is available now on PC via Steam Early Access.
