The PlayStation 4 launched two years ago in November of 2013. Its current pace makes it one of the fastest-selling consoles in history. Last month, Sony revealed that lifetime sales for the console had risen to 29.3 million, and adjusted its forecasted number of consoles to sell this year from 16.5 million to 17.5 million. The console sold 14.8 million units last year. The console’s rise has been fueled by a mixture of first party, third party, and indie titles. Sony recently released firmware update 3.0, which improved on some of the PlayStation Network’s subpar services. While not all of the services promised during the console’s launch event have been added, most are now available.
