RollerCoaster Tycoon World has been delayed again after feedback from the game’s first beta led developer Nvizzio and publisher Atari to determine more time is needed to finish the game, the developer announced in a blog post Thursday.
Originally slated for release in early 2015, this delay follows a previous delay to improve the game’s graphics, which were ridiculed following the release of a trailer earlier this year. The release date was moved from early 2015 to Dec. 10, 2015. Now, following feedback from the game’s first of two planned beta events, RollerCoaster Tycoon World has been delayed again to early 2016.
The primary additions and improvements cited as cause for the most recent delay are: the ability to use lines and curves during the building of coasters, test mode feedback improvements so players can more accurately test their creations in progress, improvements to the fence tool, and improvements to the grid system used to help would-be theme park designers.
The blog post also notes that there are “a number of bugs, memory leaks, polish items, and optimizations” that the developer would like to take care of, as well.
The delay in the game’s release has also pushed back the beta testing timetable. Originally planned for November, the game’s second beta test will happen sometime in December, Nvizzio said. Currently, to access the beta, players must pre-order the game.
RollerCoaster Tycoon World was originally announced in 2014 for an early 2015 release. However, late last year, the game switched developers from Pipeworks Software to Area 52 Games. Sometime after the release of a trailer on March 5, 2015, the game switched developers once again from Area 52 Games to the current developer, Nvizzio.
