Mega Man fans rejoice! Today, Nintendo announced that Mega Man Legacy Collection, which features the first six Mega Man games, is coming to the 3DS.
As if that were not enough, the Mega Man amiibo will be able to unlock bonus challenges in the games. Along with the classic blue Mega Man amiibo, Nintendo revealed a new amiibo that will come with the Collector’s Edition of the Mega Man Legacy Collection. This one looks pretty much exactly the same, with the only difference being that it’s gold.

There were no concrete details on a release date or what kind of updates Nintendo would make to gameplay, but it’s still great news for Mega Man fans. This kind of re-release will help keep the franchise relevant by introducing it to a younger generation of gamers.
Today’s Nintendo announcements also brought news of a re-release for Pokémon. Red, Blue, and Yellow will be repackaged for the 3DS this February in honor of the games’ twentieth anniversary.
