Among the torrential downpour of news Nintendo unleashed on our Twitter feeds today was a release date for Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam. We’ll see our favorite plumbers return to the 3DS on January 22. The game was first announced at E3 2015 in June as a crossover between Mario & Luigi and the beloved Paper Mario.

As previously reported, the game will feature elements from both games, and characters from the respective versions will meet their doppelgangers in-game. There hasn’t been much news about the title outside of official press events, but based on its predecessors’ success in Japan, Nintendo probably doesn’t have to worry too much about building hype for Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam.
It’s been an exciting day for Nintendo. Among other news, they announced a new playable female Link called Linkle coming to Hyrule Warriors Legends that proved to be extremely popular with fans. On the Pokémon front, Nintendo announced the brand new Pokémon Picross and, in what’s definitely the most exciting news of the day, the 3DS re-release of Pokémon Red, Blue, and Yellow for 3DS in February to commemorate the games’ twentieth anniversary.
If you’re a Nintendo fan, it might be time to get a 3DS.
